How To Find The Perfect Wedding Photographer
Choosing the right wedding photographer....
Weirdly the person you’ll spend the most time with on your wedding day isn’t your lover, it’s your photographer!
From your pre-wedding prep to when you hit the d-floor, your wedding photographer will be happily clicking away by your side. All. Day. Long.
So it’s important you get along!
It sounds simple but liking and trusting your wedding photographer 100% is super important. The more relaxed and comfortable you are in front of their camera, the better your photos will be and the more fun you’ll have.
But how do you find a wedding photographer that isn’t a total douche?
Well, we’re all pretty awesome, but like our clients we’re all totally different humans too. Yep, it’s pretty obvious, but it’s definitely something you should prioritise when choosing who you’re going to book.
Here’s a few things to think about….
Start early – the majority of weddings happen in peak times when venues and vendors are in high demand. Start your research early so you have a choice of who you can book.
Do your research – who is available locally, whose work resonates with you, and whose packages are within your budget. Most photographers will have a website and a Facebook page. Start your search on Google, Facebook and Google maps, check out their websites and then shoot them a message about availability and packages.
Meet face to face - Once you’ve got a shortlist meet your potential wedding photographers face to face. If you’re local, have a chat over a coffee or use Skype or Facetime if you’re not.
Almost all of my clients have said they knew as soon as they met me that they wanted to book me. They’d done their research, they liked my style and importantly after we met face to face they liked me.
So be brave and ask your photographer out on a professional date. And guaranteed, you’ll know straight away if they’re the one for you.
