Why Book Kirsten?

Because you want someone who gets it — and is seriously skilled at what she does.

With over 12 years behind the camera and hundreds of weddings under my belt, I bring the perfect blend of calm, creativity, and down-to-earth energy. Whether it’s wild weather, tricky lighting, nervous jitters, or a tight timeline, I handle it all with ease — capturing the magic like it’s second nature.

I combine creative flair with technical expertise, backed by a Master of Fine Arts in Photomedia from UNSW and a Bachelor of Media and Communications from Sydney Uni. But beyond the credentials, I’m all about reading the room, calming nerves, and making sure you feel completely yourself in front of the lens.

Booking Your Wedding Photography

To lock in your wedding date, a $1000 non-refundable retainer is required. This secures your spot in my calendar and means I’ll turn away any other enquiries for that day.

You don’t need to decide on the exact package just yet — you can choose what suits you best closer to the big day. Once your timeline is set and you know where and when you want me, we’ll finalise the package together.

My most popular option includes 8 to 10 hours of coverage plus a beautiful fine art wedding album.

The $1000 retainer will be credited towards your final package price once we confirm it. The remaining balance is due one week before your wedding. You can pay in full upfront or split it into instalments — whatever works best for you. I’ll also keep you posted if there are any additional fees.

If this sounds like your kind of process, I’d love to be your wedding photographer! Let’s make it official.

Reach out here or email me at hello@kirstencunningham.com — can’t wait to hear from you!

Kind Words

  • Omg! You’re seriously f-ing AMAZING! We looooooove them!

    Ash and Dan

  • These are so amazing, we’re so excited!!! We haven’t stopped looking at them! Also we can’t say this enough, but thank you so much for everything and going above and beyond on Saturday. What a surprise it was, but we appreciate that you did so much to keep it fun that definitely wasn’t your responsibility. Almost nobody has said how good the day was without saying how awesome you were.

    Kate and Jarrod

  • You are a machine! These are incredible!

    Holly and Tim

  • “We fell in love with Kirsten’s candid, raw and authentic photography. At our wedding, our family and friends commented how she just 'fit in'. I was nervous about the bridal party shoot, however, it ended up being an absolute blast and one of the highlights of the whole wedding! Our photos are so dreamy. Thank you Kirsten, we couldn't recommend you enough.”

    Hannah & Dave

  • Your work is incredible and we are so grateful you were there to capture our day perfectly. We both really loved your vibe, you made us feel so relaxed! Love love love!!!

    Haley and Jack

  • WOWOWOWOW!

    Jen and Scott

  • Thank you so much again! Ryan doesn't like his photo being taken, but he keeps saying you were amazing! You may have changed him! Lol!

    Amy and Ryan

  • Thank you sooooo much. They’re amazing! We loved having you there on the day. Thank you for making it all so easy and fun. When we were talking the next day John said the photos were one of his favourite parts of the wedding, and our guests all commented on how wonderful you were.

    Katy and John

  • Wow, we didn’t expect photos so quickly! They are gorgeous!! Thanks again for helping two very camera shy people getting so many photographs taken… We had such a lovely day.

    Annika and Adheip

  • There are no words to describe how insanely talented Kirsten is! One of the things that left us in awe was Kirsten’s natural instinct and expertise. Watching her look at the sun hitting her hand and knowing exactly how much daylight we had left was beyond impressive. Her experience is priceless—she knew exactly where to go, what to do, and guided us so kindly and professionally throughout the day.

    Josie and Lachie

  • Yes I do. I love travelling for work and have photographed weddings in Italy, New Zealand, Queensland and all over New South Wales. Travel fees apply but are very reasonable to cover transport and accommodation.

  • Please email me saying you’d like to book and I’ll send through a contract and booking fee invoice. Once this is paid and the contract is signed your booking is secured!

  • For portraits sessions the full fee is due prior to the shoot date.

Weddings and elopement require a $1000 non-refundable booking retainer which secures the date of the wedding. All remaining fees are due seven days prior to the wedding date.

You can chose which package you would like anytime between paying the booking retainer and the week before your wedding when final payment is due.

I understand timelines evolve and the booking retainer most importantly is to lock in your date! I really don’t mind how you pay - in lump sum or instalments.

  • 100% yes. I believe that love is love and am so excited that same sex couples now have the same rights as everybody else.

  • I understand timelines evolve and you may not know how much wedding photography coverage you want until you finalise your run sheet.

So when you decide to book you don’t need to confirm which package you’d like until much closer to your wedding date. The most important thing is to secure your date while it is available and that you have an idea of budget and what the packages cost.

My most common wedding package is 8 hours + an album or 10 hours of photography coverage.

10 hours will cover all of the below.

8 hours will cover most of the below with shortened time in prep and end of night.

6 hours usually covers prep or reception but not both.

    General wedding day photography coverage…

    1. Getting ready - the details, the nerves, your people.

    2. First look - if you want one?

    3. The arrival, ceremony, the kiss and walk down the aisle as a married couple - woop woop!

    4. Formal family photos straight after the ceremony- short and sweet I promise.

    5. Beautiful portraits - let’s have a good time, and not a long time away from your guests!

    6. Reception shenanigans, heartfelt speeches and amazing food.

    7. Dance floor happiness.

  • Absolutely! I will be with you every step of the way (especially with timelines and timing your portrait sessions with sunset) and if you need me at any time in the lead up to your wedding I’ll be there.

After you book you’ll have access to a client area with all of the information to help plan your wedding.

  • Elopements are micro weddings of less than 20 people. With less scheduled activities, they generally need less photography coverage.

Elopement packages start from 2 hours of coverage and are available mid-week during peak season or weekends as well during winter.

Weddings have 20 or more guests and usually have a full day of activities that need more photography coverage.

  • Weddings require me to be an event, portrait, food, wine, architecture, interiors and fashion photographer all in one day! I love doing commercial work. Please outline your job when you enquire so I can provide an accurate quote.

    My commercial page is https://www.kirstencunningham.com/commercial-photography

  • Absolutely. I have up to date public liability insurance up to $20 million. I’m more than happy to send you a copy of you or your venue require it. Just ask.

  • If you needed to change your wedding date due to covid legislation the $1000 retainer is able to be moved to another new mutually agreed upon date, but isn't refundable.

Please note all wedding cancellations whether related to Covid 19 legislation or not, are subject to the terms and conditions of the contract - which state the booking retainer is not refundable as after your date is secured all other work is turned away.

  • Yes! When you pay the $1000 non-refundable booking retainer and sign the contract your date will be secured and all other potential work is turned away.

  • Most weddings I photograph my myself and easily cover everything. However if you have a wedding of 100+ guests or have special requests a second shooter can be very handy!

Please note this is subject to availability depending on the location of your wedding and availability of securing a second shooter.

  • Weddings packages will have a sneak peek of 20-50 photos delivered via an online gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The final gallery will be ready 4-6 weeks after your wedding day.

Lifestyle and family are generally around 2 weeks unless there is a prearranged rush edit.

  • There is an unlimited amount of images you will receive. For weddings and family it is around 50-100 edited photographs per hour of photography. Lifestyle will depend on what we are photographing but I don’t have a capped number of images. All edited images are included in the pricing.

  • I upload all of the high resolution images to a private online gallery where you can download them in web and print size. I send this via email and you can share the link with family and friends.
